OMAS Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Ballpoint Pen Limited Edition. In 1988, the Italian designers at OMAS created a model especially for the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This special edition pen has a shiny black natural (cotton) resin casing, with the 3 gold rings, gold trim and clip standing out sharply in harmony. The barrel is engraved with "OMAS, The Museum of Modern Art New York". The pen is senior sized pen, weighing 23.25 gm and measuring 5.57 inch (143 mm) at length and 0.56 inch (14 mm) maximum section diameter.

It falls very comfortably at one's hands and is a real dream to write with. It is said that its production was limited although each pen is not numbered. All in all, this pen is a real classic and beauty. Founded in 1925, OMAS is a family business in Italy, which displays a passion for natural materials (vs artificial ones) and traditional handcrafting. Each individual piece is manufactured in Bologna and only 2,500 copies of each model leave the factory annually.

OMAS went into liquidation in January 2016 due to economic circumstances. Although the company was revived later in 2018, production was still disrupted. This makes any classical limited production OMAS pens more collectible and in demand.
